Our Adoption Timeline

16 April 2012 - First saw Addison on Rainbow Kids.

17 April 2012 - Inquired about adopting Addison from the agency that listed her on Rainbow kids.  Also our 19th wedding anniversary.

23 April 2012 - Spoke with Sherry at Rainbow Kids about adopting Addison.

26 April 2012 - Spoke with Mike about doing our home study.

02 May 2012 - Mike came to the house for our interview for our home study.

03 May 2012 - Mailed in adoption application to Life Adoption Services, Inc.

08 May 2012 - Fingerprinted for home study.

10 May 2012 - Received acceptance agreement on Addison.

23 May 2012 - Registered for the online training seminars.

29 May 2012 - Ryan and Grant have home study physicals.

04 June 2012- Darin and I have our home study physicals.

08 June 2012 - Darin and I receive our typhoid and yellow fever vaccines.

30 June 2012 - Received draft copy of our home study.

10 July 2012 - Received final copy of home study.

11 July 2012 - Darin begins Hep series vaccines.

18 July 2012 - Mailed off I-600A.

27 July 2012 - Mailed off power of attorney to Laura Morrison at Assistant Stork.  She will walk it through the State Department and Congolese Embassy.

10 August 2012 - Received POA back.

14 August 2012 - Fingerprinted by USCIS for I-600A.

06 September 2012 - Dossier mailed to DRC!

11 September 2012 - Received two more pics of Addison via email.

18 September 2012 - Received our I-600A approval!

16 Ocotber 2012 - Guardianship report has been obtained and the judgement required for the birth certificate which has been applied for.

09 November 2012 - Our attorney has the court decisions for the birth certificate.  The case is now submitted to Juvenile Court for the judgement of adoption.

07 January 2013 - Received two more pics of Addison via email.

23 January 2013 - Received two more pics of Addison today via email.

01 February 2013 - Found out today about the timeline for embassy investigations after the I-600 approval = 3-6 months!

05 February 2013 - Received the court decision = adoption decree via email.  It is signed 25 January 2013.

11 February 2013 - Dr. Laure met with Addison at the orphanage to give her a check-up.  She also emailed six pictures.

12 February 2013 - Dr. Laure sent the medical evaluation via email.

22 March 2013 - Received Certificate of Non-Appeal and Acte of Adoption.  Documents are in French, so we are awaiting the translations.

29 March 2013 - Addi has malaria, typhoid fever and a respiratory infection.

2 April 2013 - Received the translated documents via email.  Now awaiting the originals to file the I-600.
